CIMB Introduces Inclusive ASB Financing Solution, Promoting Financial Empowerment

CIMB Bank Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd have collaborated with CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd and Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Bhd to introduce an inclusive financing solution for Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB). This initiative aims to enhance financial literacy among Malaysians and empower them to take control of their financial well-being. By offering complimentary credit health reports and attractive takaful coverage, CIMB seeks to enable customers to gain insights into their financial standing and make informed decisions towards achieving their long-term financial goals. Effendy Shahul Hamid, the CEO of CIMB Group’s consumer and digital banking division, emphasized the importance of building an inclusive and financially literate society through this initiative.

Starting from June 15, 2023, customers who opt for the ASB Financing solution during the campaign period will receive a complimentary MyCTOS Basic Report with CCRIS, providing an overview of their credit health. Additionally, customers can enjoy discounts on the full MyCTOS Score Report for a more comprehensive understanding of their overall financial health. This empowers individuals to better assess their financial status and make proactive plans to achieve their financial aspirations.

As part of the ASB Financing solution, customers will also receive a complimentary 12-month takaful coverage worth up to RM10,000. This coverage includes RM5,000 for death or total and permanent disability, as well as an additional payout of RM5,000 for accidental death and dismemberment. By integrating insurance benefits into the financing solution, CIMB aims to provide customers with a holistic approach to financial well-being, ensuring they are protected and prepared for unexpected events.

Effendy Shahul Hamid highlighted the significance of customer empowerment in sustaining the bank’s business. By introducing the ASB Financing solution, CIMB not only facilitates access to financing but also introduces customers to the concepts of credit health and insurance. The bank recognizes the importance of promoting financial literacy and inclusivity, contributing to the development of a progressive and well-informed society. Through this initiative, CIMB continues its commitment to building a financially resilient and empowered customer base.
