During the 2024 Kedah State Perhimpunan Perkhidmatan Awam 2024 at Dewan Kenangan Sultan Abdul Hamid, Sungai Petani Municipal Council complex, Dato’ Dr Adnan Bin Mat addressed the audience, shedding light on the urgent issue of the current inadequacy of civil servants’ wages to cover the escalating cost of living.

Cuepacs proposed a provisional increase of approximately RM300, which could be adjusted once the new SSPA is ready. Dato’ Dr Adnan suggested that, in the interim, a special allowance could be considered to address the immediate financial concerns of civil servants.
